Full Circle

There I stood, a boy just sixteen.
Thought I was a man, but still so green.
I want to be a soldier, and fight for the King.
Make a name for myself. I will do great things.

Marching off to war,
Wild-eyed and young,
To defeat the enemy
And send them home.
The world is so big.
Never knew it before.
We’ll come Full Circle, boys,
From this new found shore.

We fought hard, and we won the land
I stayed to farm but can not meet the Crown’s demands
The King’s grip grows tight. Denies us our rights.
The call for Revolution rings through the night.

There they stand again, boys but sixteen.
Under my command now, all so bloody green.
They want to be soldiers, go to war against our King.
We’ll make names for ourselves. We will do great things.

Marching off to war,
Wild-eyed and young,
To carve out a country
A country of our own
We fight for Liberty
Never knew it before.
We’ve come Full Circle, boys,
On this new found shore.
We’ve come Full Circle,
On this new found shore.
